Safari Tours

A typical one day Safari Tour

  • We will leave the northern town of Gulu around 5am to enter Murchison Falls National Park at the Wangkwar Gate after dawn.  The slow four hour drive through the Park is ideal for wildlife sightings.
  • We will arrive at Paraa Ferry Crossing around lunchtime and take a short trip across the beautiful River Nile. At this point the Nile is slow moving and calm.
  • We will continue off - road winding down the valley towards the Falls. By now we will hear the roaring of the Falls which will be roughly 3 km away. We will arrive at the top of the Falls and watch it tumbling down 47 metres as it continues to rush North towards Sudan and Ethiopia.
  • We can take the 10 mins walk to the foot of the Falls to catch the amazing view from the bottom of the Valley. There is an option to go on bush walk to spot the varied species of monkey types that live in that part or we can just relax at the Falls and soak up the atmosphere.
  • After enjoying a traditional African picnic we will take a slow drive through the Park towards the Tangi Gate.
  • On leaving the Park we will take a ten minute drive through the elephant corridor and over the bridge to Pakwach town. There we can mix with the locals and visit the souvenir shops.
  • We will head back to Gulu around sunset aiming to arrive around 8pm.
